What We Know
While rumors swirled about a “Coke” or even “Blueberry” Rolex GMT-Master II, we got something totally different today from replica Rolex watches for sale, with the new stainless steel 126710GRNR with a grey and black bezel. What We Think
Frankly, I was never the biggest fan of the “Coke” bezel, so I’m not particularly sad we didn’t see that this year. But I did think the original black-only bezel cheap clone Rolex GMT-Master II 116710LN watches were a good subtle option that thought the contrast of colors between black and blue or blue and red was too “loud” for their taste. I loved the idea of the Pepsi for its historical tie-in, but I always thought that if I was to go back to my photojournalism days, I’d never want to wear something that drew so much attention to itself. Even the “Batman” is eye-catching. This is certainly far more stealthy.
The new bezel combo isn’t earth-shattering but it is at least more practical and legible than the original black bezel, with a day/night divide, which is a decently important part of using a GMT in the first place. The other thing that stood out on the site was the fact that the top copy Rolex GMT-Master II “Pepsi” watches in steel are still listed on the site despite the rumors that it might be discontinued. So if the Pepsi was your dream (like it was mine), your dream is still alive.
